Once a child reaches the age of 2 years, we prepare them for the transition to our toddler room. Activities are planned to keep our busy two year olds active and focused in their play. We follow the principles of learning through play, highlighted in the foundation phase. Our toddler children have a large base room, and their own messy area for creative play and their own quiet area to look at books or take time to reflect. |

In toddlers we are introducing the Montessori approach, activities
will include real life play e.g. pegging out clothes, problem solving,
and simple activities that compliment the foundation phase in
developing the children’s skills. One example of this is the In and
Out activity, by using a ball and a tube rather than an elaborate toy
the child’s focus is on the in & out concept rather that being split
between pretty lights and music of the elaborate toy.

As your child approaches the age of 3, we will start a session of visits to our Pre School room, as education providers, children attending nursery will receive funding from Torfaen County Borough Council, the term after your child’s 3rd birthday. |
